Your first week: from new workspace to first paid job

Updated For owners

Do these in order. Most businesses finish in two or three short sessions.

Day 1: your business and services

  1. Business details and brand. Settings → Business, region & brand → Business & branding. Add your legal name, ABN or company number, logo and colours. They appear on quotes, invoices and your client portal.
  2. Country, language and time zone. Settings → Country, language & timezone. Check the time zone; it controls when jobs show and when reminders go out.
  3. Services and prices. Follow Add your services, prices and add-ons.
  4. Office address. Settings → Scheduling, coverage & properties → Addresses & navigation. Your office address is where routes start.

Day 2: people and records

  1. Import your clients. Follow Import from a spreadsheet. Do clients first, then properties.
  2. Add your team. Follow Add your team and set roles. Give each cleaner a login so they can use the phone app.
  3. Checklists. Settings → Jobs, forms & checklists → Forms & job checklists. Check that each service has the work areas your cleaners should tick.

Day 3: money and messages

  1. Online payments. Follow Set up online payments, saved cards and deposits.
  2. Message wording. Settings → Communication & documents → Email, SMS, PDF & portal templates. Read the booking confirmation, reminder and invoice emails, and use Message preview & test to send one to yourself.
  3. Accounting (optional). Settings → Connections → Xero accounting or Plain Accounts sync centre.

Your first real job

  1. Book a regular client's next clean: Book a job.
  2. Assign a cleaner on the schedule: Assign or move a job.
  3. The cleaner starts and finishes it on their phone: Start and finish a job.
  4. Invoice it: Close the day.

When that invoice is paid, you're live.
